How to toast pecans

There are variety of recipes that call for toasted pecans, including some of our favorite soups, breads and desserts. The process is super easy, so do a large batch and freeze the toasted nuts for use all winter long!

TOASTED PECANS
Ingredients
  • 1 cup pecans 
  • 1 tablepoon olive oil, if desired
  • Salt, if desired
Oven Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Toss pecans in oil and salt and arrange in a single layer on prepared baking sheet. Toast until browned and fragrant, stirring occasionally, about 7 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Use as desired in your recipes or store in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Freeze in a sealed freezer bag for longer storage.
Stove Top Directions
Toss pecans in oil and salt if desired. In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat pecans until browned and fragrant, stirring occasionally, about 2 to 5 minutes.
