After Thanksgiving dinner has been shared and the kitchen cleaned, treat your guests to this warm and comforting drink. For a kid friendly version, simply omit the brandy.
SPIKED APPLE PIE CIDER
- 1 1/4 quarts apple cider
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 6 cinnamon sticks for garnish
Directions
Add all ingredients except the last two to a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. When heated through, remove from heat and stir in brandy. Strain and throw away solids. Serve hot in mugs with a cinnamon stick in each for garnish.
