Green tomato Bloody Maria recipe

Last year, Chef Aimee decided to stretch her culinary skills and enter the annual Bloody Mary Showdown hosted by Planned2Give. While she had no illusions of winning the bartending competition, she did succeed in creating a chef-inspired Bloody Mary that had people talking.

GREEN TOMATO BLOODY MARIA
Ingredients

  • 4 cups green tomatoes, cut into chunks
  • 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar 
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley 
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, cut into chunks
  • 2 limes, juiced 
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and quartered 
  • 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish 
  • 4 ounces vodka
  • 4 ounces tequila

Directions
Combine all of the ingredients except the horseradish and liquor in a blender and puree until smooth. Stir in horseradish and liquor and season with salt if desired. Serve over ice and garnish as desired. Chef Aimee chose to rim her glasses with a blend of sweet and spicy panko and chipotle seasoning and garnished with a cube of pepperjack cheese, cherry tomato and jalapeno sliver.
